❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How does the metal spring mechanism benefit my dog during tug-of-war?
A: The metal spring absorbs sudden force spikes to protect your dog's neck and joints, while providing constant elastic resistance that simulates playing tug-of-war with a real person.
Q: Can the cotton rope toys be used separately?
A: Yes. The 2 included cotton rope toys feature quick-release travel hooks, allowing you to easily detach them for standalone fetch or chewing games.
Q: Where can I install this outdoor tether tug pole?
A: It is designed for installation on standard firm grass, dirt yards, or compact soil using the 6 ground stakes. It should not be used in loose sand or overly wet, marshy ground to ensure maximum stability.

Let me start by saying I really like the idea of this dog toy tether. I have a number of dogs and the idea of having this type of tether toy in my yard could provide them with something to play with and pull on other than lawn furniture. All that being said, my dogs did like to play with this. My smallest dog especially liked pulling on the toys attached to the tether. The spring on the shaft of the tether is flexible enough that even my smallest dog can pull it over. Bottom line is that this is a good idea, but the base is too small, the ground screws are not the right type, and there should never be a metal object like a bell attached to a dog toy.
This Tether Tug is very well made and thoughtfully designed. The materials are heavy-duty — the pole, spring, and ropes all feel strong and durable. My dogs absolutely love it! It gives them great exercise and keeps them entertained for a long time. A lot of the lower reviews seem to come from people who set it directly into soft soil. That will not hold up against dogs that pull hard. The base needs to be secured in firm ground or concrete, and once it’s stabilized, it performs perfectly. The spring gives a nice bounce and the ropes hold up well to repeated tugging. Overall, it’s a fantastic outdoor toy for active dogs and great quality for the price. Just make sure you install it properly
So far, this has worked out great. The extra length helps keep things moving. Dog loves the chase game, and the pole allows for a fun time without having to run all over the place. Pole appears sturdy and durable.
