⚡ Quick Specifications & Match Guide
- Best For: High-energy working & herding breeds (Australian Shepherds, Border Collies, German Shepherds, Heelers) weighing 30–70 lbs.
- Core Mechanism: Activates natural herding drive via chest & nose pushing—burning excess energy in 20 mins without jaw strain.
- Material & Durability: Dual-layer system combining a heavy-duty anti-burst PVC inner ball with a rugged, machine-washable outer fabric cover.
- Safety Distinction: Pop-proof design with smooth fabric grip—dogs cannot puncture it with sharp teeth or swallow loose fluff.
🐾 Is the Warmmore Herding Ball Right for Your Dog?
- Ideal For: Active herding breeds that display high prey drive, chasing instincts, or backyard boredom behaviors (digging, barking, wall-chewing).
- Not Recommended For: Small toy breeds (<15 lbs) or dogs that exclusively prefer soft, squeaky plush fetch toys without any pushing/chasing drive.
⚠️ Crucial Usage Tip for Maximum Durability: Must be fully inflated until firm and hard! A fully inflated, hard surface prevents dogs from grabbing or biting into the ball, ensuring long-lasting toughness.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
1. Q: What size herding ball is best for an Australian Shepherd or Border Collie?
A: An 18-inch herding ball is the optimal size for medium-to-large active breeds like Australian Shepherds and Border Collies. It is large enough so they push it with their chest and nose rather than trying to get their jaw around it, preventing accidental mouth injury.
2. Q: Can my dog pop or chew through the inner PVC ball?
A: The inner ball is made from commercial-grade anti-burst PVC, encased in a high-density protective fabric cover. The cover acts as a shield against sharp teeth and claws, making it virtually impossible for aggressive pushers to puncture during normal play.
3. Q: How do I clean the herding ball after outdoor play?
A: Simply unzip the outer fabric cover, deflate the inner ball slightly to remove the cover, and toss the cover into your washing machine on a gentle cold cycle.

Great ball and my Aussie loves it! Just make sure you get the bag inserted in the cover properly so the inflator valve is at the top because it can be a little challenging to get your hand inside the small zipper opening. Otherwise great ball, great quality!
One of my best and favorite purchases I’ve made for my corgi! He loves it and I love watching him chase after it like a flying squirrel lol.
This has been a fun addition for my dogs. The ball is large, sturdy, and gives them a good way to burn off some energy outside. It definitely keeps them interested and gets them moving. I also like that it feels durable enough for bigger dogs. So far, it’s been a great outdoor toy!
The separate inner ball and fabric cover make the whole thing feel well thought out and durable. It is also easy enough to wipe down after outdoor play. Overall, a fun, sturdy choice for energetic dogs.
My dog is a little scared of it, but I think that’s a her thing, ha! I don’t really understand what the handles are for, so I removed a star. It seems durable—my dog tried to bite it and there was no damage. It was easy to put together and inflate. It’s a good size for my 40 lb dog and I think would work for larger dogs, too.
My 7 month old loves it and I don't need to worry about it being punctured. 11 year old loves it too. Great product.
I ordered this herding ball for my mini Aussie. The ball was easy to air up with the included pump. The written instructions are not that clear, but it was easy to get the ball aired up. This is the first herding ball that we've had, so clear instructions were necessary. My young mini Aussie is small and she is a little scared of the ball because it's so much bigger than her, but our Pointer took to it well and had fun. I like that the outer shell of the ball is a little loose, preventing the dogs from tearing the softer inner vinyl ball. The zipper where you insert the inner ball is well-made and zips/unzips easily. This ball bounces very well and is lots of fun. I recommend this herding ball considering the loads of fun and training that it provides.
Durable and my dog absolutely loves it, helps with all The puppy energy, he has so much energy have had the ball for about a month, and still no tears on the ball,
Bought this for my 2yo energetic mini Aussie. To say he loves this ball is an understatement, he LIVES to chase this ball. The handles a plus as he can toss it around himself. It is the perfect size for my pup. The colors are bright although I don’t think he is overly concerned about the color it’s an BALL and he’s a DOG who lives for herding things (kids, cats, balls). His favorite is when the grandkids are over and the play soccer with him and this herding ball; not sure who has more fun or is worn out more. I will add it is a must to keep this ball fully inflated so the pups can’t puncture it; we have had a to patch but it is holding strong for now.
I have a Bulldog-Lab-Pitty mix, high energy and goes through toys like crazy and spent hundreds of dollars trying to find a toy that will entertain him and last more than a week! It took him a little before he realized this ball was a new toy because it was bigger than any of his other toys and he loves charge the ball full on run and he rolls right over the top of the ball then comes back at it grabbing one of the handles and shakes that ball to the point I think he is going to knock himself out. Very entertaining, he does like to chew on the handles on occasion but even the handles are withstanding his chewing. One of our favorite toys!
